Colleen E. Rosensteel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University in Maryland with a B.A. degree in Accounting. She passed the CPA exam on her first sitting in 1992. Colleen returned to Loyola to earn her M.B.A. in Business Management, graduating in 1999.
Colleen has over thirty years experience as a dedicated business and accounting professional. Her journey started in public accounting at Ernst & Young, proficiently working in both audit and tax; she then moved to private industry, supporting parent companies with a global presence.
Her most distinguished role was a ten year period at Black & Decker Corporation as Director of Corporate Consolidation. Colleen was an integral partner in the small team which conquered the mission of creating a single worldwide consolidated financial reporting system for this Fortune 500 company.
After her tenure at Black & Decker Colleen spent several years as a Controller, at a local manufacturing company and for a defense contracting firm. Her range of responsibilities included bookkeeping, cash management, payroll and benefits, and policies and procedures.
With each move in her career, she gained significant accounting knowledge for various industries, as well as skills structured for implementing new software applications.
The transition back to public accounting was a decision made by Colleen to facilitate her commitment to family, offering an opportunity for work-life balance.
Additionally, working at BLRR (formerly BSLR) provided the unique challenge to learn the complex world of estates and trusts. Colleen diligently serves individual and business taxpayers, but her main expertise is helping fiduciaries.
She has strong relationships with local attorneys and is highly adept at speaking with IRS agents on behalf of her clients.
Colleen previously served as PTO President for The Goddard School in Forest Hill and Treasurer for the Chesapeake Heritage Conservancy.
She is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chesapeake Professional Women’s Network.
Colleen and her husband reside in Harford County with their two sons.
